Writer's Block: Fixing the past.

If you could go back and fix your most regrettable decision, what would it be, and what would you do differently?

Or:

Pirates or Ninjas?

In the fall of 1993, I knocked on the door of a person whom I thought might be a friend. And began a rollercoaster ride of unhappiness, pain and misery. If I could go back, I'd never knock on that door and never try to get to know that person. Who, it turns out, was never really worth my effort.

Fudge & Family

The fudge fudged and is yummy. I had to sample it tonight.

Mom and Dad came down today, and Mom and I made a whirlwind trip through the Maul to get her a new spring outfit. JCPenney wasn't helpful, but we found her a three good outfits at Macy's. Then we went down to OOB to have a light supper and cake for Adam's b-day which was actually last Monday. After that, we went to Saco to hear them sing. Here they are.

Adam is the 2nd from the left, and Olivia the fourth from the left, the tall red head. And she's ten and he's nine. They both had solos, and were very good despite both of them saying, "we sucked!"

Fun and busy weekend. Now back to your regularly scheduled insanity. Oh, yeah and the finale of Survivor.

Vishten - Joli Coeur

This performance was taped at the Louisburg Playhouse, in Louisburg, Cape Breton Island. I was at this show!! I was seated to the left of the fiddle player/singer along the side and about four rows back. The fiddle player whose name ecapes me is from the Madeline Islands, and barely spoke any English. The two girls are sisters and are from PEI. And Elmer, the guitarist, if prodded would get up and clog dance, in his sneakers. If you notice the girl to the right (Emmanuelle??) is clogging while seated, which the Cajun musicians did to fool the priests, who frowned on dancing on Sundays. It provides the percussion in all this sort of music.

Heavy artillery?

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22): In some places, you can't buy a gun 15 minutes after you get an itch to hold it in your hand. In America, for example, a few of the states force you to delay your purchase for a short time. Many countries also require couples seeking marriage licenses to endure a cooling-off period of a few days before they can officially tie the knot. I urge you to adopt this approach to making important decisions, Virgo. Impose a waiting period on yourself if you're thinking about acquiring heavy artillery, intensifying your relationship commitment, altering your consciousness, or initiating any other big action.

It hasn't been that bad of a week.

Censorship

Berkley Breathed has joined the ranks of Mark Twain, J.D. Salinger, J.K. Rowling and Gary Trudeau and has been CENSORED!!

It took a bit to find this. Evidentally, the editors of the Washington Post (among others) thought that someone would be offended.

Me, I'll restrain myself from saying what I'd like to. I wouldn't want to offend anyone.

The original. Blame [info]thesummoner. He gave me this week's catchphrase. I've already identified several people who badly need this.
